Dr. MillsOn Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Hill College hosted an open house of the new facilities for the Industrial Maintenance Program at the Cleburne Technical Center (CTC).

Last fall, thanks to generous donations from the Hill College Foundation and the Johnson County Campus Development Foundation, the college began an initiative to further the commitment of providing quality technical education by renovating the CTC to house the Industrial Maintenance Program. Updates included modifying classrooms, studios, and common areas that will be shared to provide a more central location that benefits students and faculty, allowing better access to state-of-the-art facilities for welding, electrical, HVAC, automotive, and mechanical training.

“The move of the Hill College Industrial Maintenance Program to the Cleburne Technical Center location is such a positive in so many ways. It’s good for the citizens of Cleburne and Johnson County. It is great for the college and our industry partners to have all our industrial-based technical programs at one location. Most importantly, it’s good for our students and faculty to move into the newly refreshed space. Special thanks to the Johnson County Campus Development Foundation and the Hill College Foundation which provided funding support that helped make this wonderful development possible,” said Hill College President Dr. Thomas Mills.Dr. Mills sharing CTC plans

Industrial maintenance is an essential trade that keeps equipment of various industries running efficiently and requires a strategic, collaborative approach from a team of technicians, planners, and engineers.

“It is very difficult to describe industrial maintenance in the abstract to potential students. Co-locating this program in the Cleburne Technical Center allows every potential student to view the industrial maintenance lab first-hand and to see what the program has to offer,” said Industrial Maintenance Program Coordinator Devin Lewis.
